Candace began her career in human services in 1992, and has extensive experience in working with local, state and federal agencies. These include the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, the Department of Mental Retardation, and the Department of Social Services. She also has served on boards of education in several Connecticut municipalities.
As ABI Program Manager for Directions, Candace works with other Directions team members in developing person-centered plans designed to enable individuals with acquired brain injury to live safely and independently in their chosen communities. Candace also is responsible for vocational assessment and training programs for persons with acquired brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and any other disability that hinders an individual from maintaining steady employment. In that capacity, she also works with state school systems to help transition students from academia to independent living and meaningful work experiences.
Candace is a member of the Brain Injury Association of Connecticut.
